Hi guys! I just wanted to share some of my favorite pictures from the last couple days! Nox has been absolutely amazing and is already making big strides. He is a week old today, they are increasing his feeding to 13mls over 60 minutes, and continuing to wean him off the CPAP.
Just like it showed in every ultrasound, he loves sleeping with his hands up by his face and when they don’t have him swaddled up, that’s exactly what he still does! 🩵🩵

Nox had his one week ultrasound of his head and an echo yesterday. Results came back and everything looks good! No hemorrhaging in the brain, and his heart looks great. They did mention he does have septal flattening between his ventricles as well as a value that has not yet closed. However, neither of these are needs for concern, he’s still a happy and healthy boy! Treatment is available for both of these but they do not want to introduce anything new to him since the benefit is not great enough to potentially cause harm

Nox is two weeks old today! He jumped from 860 grams to 920 grams today which puts him over the the 2lb mark! He’s hit the apnea phase that most preemies unfortunately go through. He does pretty good about pulling himself out of it but sometimes needs some help. He should grow out of this within the next 4 weeks, hopefully sooner than later🩵

A day late but Nox is three weeks! His weight today is 2lb 5oz and he’s off the bubble CPAP and on just a high flow oxygen 🩵

Little update on Nox: He’s had a small infection that they’re working to identify and treat. Bacteria showed up in his urine, indicating a UTI, so they checked his blood — and the bacteria was present there too. He had to get a spinal tap yesterday morning. They weren’t able to get a good sample the first time, so after giving him an hour to rest, they tried again. Luckily, they were able to get a good sample the second time. He’s been on antibiotics and is responding well. This is likely the cause of his apnea spells

We found out a couple days ago that the antibiotics weren’t diluted properly, leading him to have 20x more than he needed. The doctor has been worried due to the medication possibly affecting his kidney function. We got his levels back yesterday and the results came back perfect! He’s still on the other antibiotics but labs are slowly coming back and looking better and better. Just another hiccup that he’s had but he’s a month as of yesterday and doing good!
