3 Months of Life-Growing so Big

Sept 2

September is NICU Awareness Month, and I can’t help but reflect on our journey from that very first day to now. No parent ever dreams of their baby beginning life in the NICU—especially for months on end. Yet here we are, and while it hasn’t been easy, it has shown us a kind of strength and gratitude we never knew before.

From the very start, leaving Nox has never gotten easier. Each day apart has stretched our hearts, but each milestone has stitched them back together with hope. From 1 lb 14 oz to now 4 lb 8 oz, and almost 10 weeks old, he has shown us what true resilience looks like.

We are endlessly thankful for the NICU—the place that has held him safe, and for the incredible nurses who have cared for him as if he were their own. The road has been long, but the finish line is near. Our miracle boy is almost ready to come home, and we are so lucky, so blessed, and so proud to be his parents.

Sept 16

Exciting update on Nox! He has been doing so well over the last two weeks—he’s back off CPAP, and we started working on breastfeeding yesterday!

This is such a huge step forward, and we can only hope things keep moving in this direction. He’s so aware of his surroundings, lively, and already showing such an amazing personality. He’s up to 5 lbs. 7 oz., with the cutest chubby cheeks and the biggest smile. We’re one step closer to bringing him home. His due date is just 13 days away, and we’ve got our fingers crossed that it’s all uphill from here and that he’ll be able to come home around that time.
